Johnson and his colleagues also compared the cost of a daily pill to those who didn’t use it, and found that those who took sildenafil daily were more expensive.
The cost of a one-time pill, compared to the one-time pills, is approximately $45 for a 30-milligram tablet, Johnson said. The cost of a one-time pill, for example, would be about $75 for a 30-milligram tablet, Johnson said.
According to the authors, that’s a large number of men who might benefit from more frequent use of an ED pill, and there is also the risk that the medication may not be as effective if used every day.
Johnson and his colleagues are also investigating the cost of an over-the-counter version of the drug, Viagra Connect, which is available by prescription only. He also is investigating whether Viagra Connect could be more effective than the over-the-counter version, Viagra, in treating erectile dysfunction.
